What can I do to prevent poisoning?
• Buy medicines with childproof caps.
• Always keep thing in the bottles they came in. Do not put poisons in food jars or bottles.
• Store medicines and vitamins out of your child's reach.
• Store all cleaning products and other poisons in locked cabinets. Your child could eat them. Do not keep soap, cleaning products, or anything else under the kitchen or bathroom sink.
• If you have people over to your house, ask them if they have any medicines. Put their medicines out of your child's reach.
• Don't give your child someone else's medicine.
• Never tell children that medicine is candy.
• Read the label well before giving your child medicine. Many mistakes happen at night. Turn the ligt on and take a good look at the label on the bottle.
• Never mix cleaning products together like bleach and ammonia. It can give off a poison gas that can make you very sick.
• Don't let your child peel off old paint and eat it. Your child can get lead poisoning.
