Seeing And Teething
At birth, infants have limited vision, and can only fix their attention on objects close to them. At about 2 to 6 months old, your baby will become aware of bright colors. Full eyesight, overall depth perception, and ability to focus will not be reached until 1 year old.

Good overall hygiene is important to protect your child's teeth. Before teething begins, gently wipe your child's gums with a wet piece of gauze after feeding, to prevent food buildup.
When your child begins teething, your doctor may suggest fluoride supplements to help prevent cavities. These supplements have been proven to reduce tooth decay in children. You might want to talk to your child's doctor about fluoride supplements at your child's next visit.
Teething is a natural, gradual process that may cause pain for your child. Teething has not been associated with fever, diarrhea, or rash, so if any of these symptoms occur, you should call your doctor.
